Pollinators Under Pressure explores the extraordinary and often overlooked role of pollinators in sustaining life on Earth. Narrated by Academy Award®–winning actor and environmental activist Leonardo DiCaprio, the short film highlights not only bees, but also butterflies, birds, bats, and countless other species. It reveals how much they pollinate, how deeply we depend on them, and why they are essential to farms, ecosystems, and human survival itself. At the same time, the film shows the mounting threats they face from climate change, habitat loss, pesticides, and industrial farming.
Through the voices of scientists, federal agencies, non-governmental organizations, and young community leaders, the film inspires viewers to recognize the urgency of protecting pollinators. A free companion guide extends this work, offering essential facts, web links, and activities that can be adapted for schools, libraries, and community groups. Together, the film and guide aim to spark public conversation, deepen understanding, and empower action to ensure the survival of pollinators — and with them, the survival of humans and ecosystems everywhere.
